OK, well a couple of articles back I explained how I thought the dry sump worked .. in short .. all of that was crap .. it 'vorks vee reey differently' to how I thought. For all of you who want to know, heres an explanation of how it works.
1. Oil starts in the sump, its scavenged, and then gets pumped through one side of the oil pump (the scavenge side) and then ducted to the oil cooler, from the oil cooler it is put into the oil tank. That was easy enough!
2. Oil from the oil tank is sucked from the tank and through the pump (this side to pressure the engine) then through the pressure relief valve and then through the filter. From the filter it goes into the main gallery where at the same pressure its distributed to the head, crank, primary, and both sides of the synchromesh grarbox, and then the clutch. All of this oil drips through the engine and gets back to the sump.
Thats It!!
If anyone would like further clarification just email me ..
